Terms of Use & Disclaimer

The information on this site has been compiled by Lindy’s husband Rick, who is solely responsible for the choice of content, and the opinions expressed by him. It is not Lindy's website, but a website about Lindy and the events following the death of her daughter Azaria. Any content on this site not otherwise credited, is solely the choice or opinion of Rick. It is correct to the best of my knowledge, but I do not take any responsibility for any error or omissions. My choice of content or opinion is not meant to state or infer in any way anything that could be understood to diminish the reputation of any individual. By using this website, you agree to accept the information posted without any expectation of suitability whatsoever, nor will you interpret anything on it as defamatory. If you choose to quote from this site, you must credit your source, and use any quote in its complete context. With the exception of information I have created under the content headings, everything on this website has been, or still is, publicly available.

Purpose

The purpose of this website is simple: to make as much information as possible about the disappearance of Azaria Chamberlain, and everything that followed, available to the merely curious, and researcher alike. It is really a response to the huge numbers of requests for information Lindy gets from people of all ages, all around the world.

Lindy has written a book (see ‘Lindy's Book’ section) in which she describes her story, the media, the court, prison, her family, behind the scenes information, and details where she found her strength to never give up. This website merely supplements the book with the legal findings, photos, artwork, and news articles from 1980 to the present.

Lindy insists on being totally open and transparent about herself and is not concerned about being judged by anyone – she is independent and doing her best in a life with lots of curves, and no roadmap. Sadly, not everyone is unafraid to hold their lives up to scrutiny, so there are some truths which we have not put on the website. In some cases I have told what people have done, without saying who did it. We have spent enough time in courtrooms, and don’t wish to do so again. A person can lose a great deal of money in the court system, even when they are right. The Chamberlain family knows well enough the hurt that comes from false accusation. If anything on this website is offensive to anyone, that is most assuredly not my intention.

You Can Make this Website Better

Creating this website is a huge undertaking, for which many people have provided generously of their writings or permissions to reproduce copyright items. Some items are locked, as the copyright holders allowed them to be provided for viewing only. The site will gradually grow, as I find time to compile, scan, and convert documents, photos, video, and voice recordings. This website will also be regularly preserved for the future by the National Library of Australia’s Pandora project.

I also need your help to make this site the very best I can: if you have suggestions to make the site better for everyone, or there is something you think should be shared on this site, please let me know (email address is on the contact page).

[Just a note: I have purposely referred to Lindy’s ex-husband Michael only where necessary. It is not that he was unimportant, but he was not the one accused of murder and imprisoned for nearly three years. He was accused only of being under Lindy’s influence and making the wrong choice to help her conceal her supposed crime. Lindy was the person who was primarily responsible for working with the legal team also. I don’t think that it is appropriate for me to speak for, or about, him. He has done that for himself elsewhere, and has his own website.]
